Closer Look...

Matt and I went out on a date on Saturday night and got a babysitter...as we often do. It is hard for the babysitter to focus on all 7 children at the same time. That is why we always tell them to pay close attention to Ira and Selah because they will slip out of sight and who knows what will happen!
So, as he often does, Ira found a way to slip under the radar and hide in Emma's closet. He found her fingernail polish on top of her closet and somehow climbed up and got it. He did a pretty good job painting his toes and got very little on the carpet. When we got home he was asleep so I had to wait until the next morning to take it off. We have 9am church and Matt is never there in the mornings to help. The boys wear salt water sandals to church so I had no choice but to scrub the paint off.
He really does love his sisters!

WOW! That is pretty crazy. Did he not know that toe nail polish we only for the toe nails not the entire toe!??

Flowers For My Birthday

Matt has been out of town on my birthday for about five years running. It's not a big deal to me, but he has a tough time with it. I teach kickboxing on Thursday mornings. Today in class the lady from the front desk came in with this pretty arrangement of flowers and said they were from Matt for my birthday. He wanted to make it a spectacle in front of everyone so that I would feel special. After the gym I met some friends at the Ninja Steakhouse where they cook the food in front of you. The children were entertained! It was a yummy lunch and I was happy to get to do something out of the ordinary. After that I came home, put Ira and Selah down for a nap and tried to take one myself. After all, it is my birthday! Besides, I told a friend I'd teach her kickboxing class tonight. So I'm going to need some extra energy. So, the day has been nice for me. Only one thing has bugged me all day....Selah has acquired this hideous screech. She just belts out a high pitched ...

Rug

Here is the rug that I chose. I brought a friend along to the store who is an interior designer and she told me that the choice Matt and I had made wouldn't match our kitchen, which is in the very next room. So I decided to look around a little bit and we found this very nice rug in the slightly damaged section. You can see on the edge in front that it doesn't lay completely flat. With that being the only problem I decided to buy the better rug and spend the same amount I would have on the other one. But I got a much better product. So, once again, I got something other than what Matt and I had agreed upon. But he was happy with the selection. It's a good thing my friend came with me! Next purchase....two chairs for either end of the table.
